Yoo Jae-suk Achieves Historic 20th Win at 2024 SBS Entertainment Awards

Comedian Yoo Jae-suk made history by winning the prestigious '2024 SBS Entertainment Awards' trophy, marking his 20th overall win. The ceremony took place on January 29 at the SBS Prism Tower in Sangam, Seoul. As he was announced as the winner among a competitive lineup, the show's viewership peaked at 5.7% (Nielsen Korea, based on metropolitan households), making him the star of the evening's 'Best Moment.'

Over the past year, Yoo Jae-suk has successfully led popular shows like Running Man (런닝맨) and Tteum Man Nameun (틈만 나면), solidifying his status as a 'living legend' in the entertainment industry. Holding the trophy, he expressed his gratitude, stating, "I am so thankful. I don't even know how to express my appreciation for receiving this award again."

He went on to thank his family and the production team, reflecting on his journey since winning his first award in 2005. "I never imagined I would receive my 20th award today. It holds great significance for me after 20 years," he shared.

Yoo Jae-suk emphasized the importance of laughter in today's world, promising to work harder with his colleagues to bring joy to audiences. He concluded his speech with a triumphant shout, "I did it!" while raising the trophy high to cheers from the audience.

The 'Producer Award' went to Lee Sang-min for his work on My Little Old Boy (미운 우리 새끼) and Shoes Off, Dolsing For Men (신발 벗고 돌싱포맨). He expressed his desire to finally add the Producer Award to his collection, stating, "I will work even harder to challenge for the grand prize next time."

Running Man (런닝맨) also won the 'Most Popular Program Award' as voted by online viewers. Yoo Jae-suk, representing the show, remarked, "Running Man has become the longest-running variety show in Korea, like a classic car that requires more fuel and maintenance. I thank our production team and members for their efforts. We will continue to run hard in the future."

The 'Highest Ratings Program Award' was awarded to My Little Old Boy (미운 우리 새끼), which has dominated ratings for eight consecutive years. Lim Won-hee shared how SBS programs provide comfort to viewers after a long day, and he humorously reminded Yoo Yeon-seok to keep his promise to appear on the show.

The Male Excellence Award was shared by Kim Seung-soo from My Little Old Boy (미운 우리 새끼) and Ryu Soo-young from Jungle Food (정글밥). Ryu Soo-young, who delivered his acceptance speech from Peru, expressed his gratitude for winning such a significant award while cooking on the show, which aims to share and learn about different cultures through food.

The 2024 SBS Entertainment Awards kicked off with a dazzling magic performance by The Magic Star team. The first part featured couples from Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 (동상이몽2 - 너는 내 운명) waltzing to a festive tune, while the second part included lively performances by Tak Jae-hoon and Ji Ye-eun, along with a collaboration of artists that heightened the celebratory atmosphere.
