Yonsei University Appoints Na Young-seok and Science Communicator Kweido as Ambassadors

On June 26, Yonsei University held a ceremony at the President's residence in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, to appoint renowned television producer Na Young-seok and science communicator Kweido (real name Kim Jae-hyuk) as promotional ambassadors for the university. Their term will run from the date of appointment until January 31, 2028.

During the ceremony, Na Young-seok shared a personal anecdote, recalling how he once wrote a letter to the university president, expressing his desire to elevate Yonsei's name if he could just graduate despite having insufficient credits. He expressed gratitude for the support he received from his alma mater. Kweido, who frequently encounters students passionate about science but uncertain about their career paths during his lectures, stated that he hopes to assist others who share his love for science through this ambassador role.

Na Young-seok, a graduate of Yonsei's Department of Public Administration, is known for directing popular variety shows such as 1 Night 2 Days (1박 2일), Grandpa Over Flowers (꽃보다 할배), and New Journey to the West (신서유기). Kweido graduated from the Department of Astronomy and Space Science at Yonsei and later obtained a master's degree from the same institution. He currently runs the YouTube channel 'Bad Science' (안될과학).

Yonsei University President Yoon Dong-seob remarked that both ambassadors exemplify the spirit of Yonsei through their broad popularity and trustworthiness.
