YG Entertainment Unveils Ambitious Plans for BLACKPINK, BABYMONSTER, TREASURE, and New Rookies

YG Entertainment has revealed an exciting new master plan from Chief Producer Yang Hyun-suk, focusing on enhancing the activities of its artists, including BLACKPINK, BABYMONSTER, and TREASURE, while also launching new talent. On May 26, 2025, the company shared an announcement titled 'BLACKPINK, BABYMONSTER, TREASURE, AND UPCOMING ROOKIES | YG ANNOUNCEMENT' on its official blog, featuring Yang's first interview of the year, outlining YG's vision for the second half of 2025.
After a seven-month hiatus, Yang excitedly hinted that fans can expect news of a new BLACKPINK song soon. The last release from the group was their album [BORN PINK], which came out on September 16, 2022, marking a significant gap of nearly two years and eight months since their last new music.
In addition, BABYMONSTER is set to ramp up their activities with a pre-release single on July 1, followed by a second single in September and a mini-album release on October 1. The title of the pre-release single is 'HOT SAUCE,' which will be their first new track since the release of their debut album [DIRP] on November 1, 2024.
Yang described 'HOT SAUCE' as a hip-hop track inspired by the mid-to-late 1980s, emphasizing its catchy nature and his hope that it will bring joy to listeners this summer. He expressed satisfaction with the results of this creative endeavor, which explores how a group of teenagers like BABYMONSTER would interpret early hip-hop music from 40 years ago.
TREASURE is also gearing up for a new mini-album set to drop on September 1. Yang committed to supporting TREASURE in releasing two or more albums each year and maintaining ongoing interactions with their fans. Following their comeback, TREASURE will embark on a new world tour starting in October.
In a surprising revelation, Yang also shared details about the long-anticipated debut plans for YG trainees, stating that the company is preparing to launch two boy groups and two girl groups. He expressed a strong desire to debut a boy group next year and confirmed that a new girl group, consisting of four members, is already in the works.
Starting from May 28, YG will sequentially release practice videos of the four new members. Yang mentioned that, similar to BABYMONSTER's pre-debut strategy, these videos will allow fans to evaluate the new talent based on their raw performances.
However, Yang indicated that he wishes to focus on BABYMONSTER's growth until the end of next year, suggesting that the official debut of the new girl group will occur afterward.
With the imminent release of BLACKPINK's new song, a large-scale world tour beginning on July 5, BABYMONSTER's upcoming single and mini-album, and TREASURE's mini-album and world tour in September and October, YG is poised for a bustling second half of 2025.
In closing, Yang emphasized the significant changes and advancements made within YG over the past year, prioritizing the acceleration of new artist debuts to expand their intellectual property. He expressed determination to showcase the upgraded YG system starting in the latter half of this year.
The interview concluded with a teaser stating, 'THE FIRST MEMBER OF YG'S NEXT GIRL GROUP. STAY TUNED,' hinting at the upcoming reveal of the first member of the new girl group on May 28, which is sure to capture the attention of global music fans.
