Wonder Girls' 'Tell Me' Tops April Fool's Special on KBS Joy

In the recent episode of KBS Joy's 'Twenty Century Hit Song' aired on March 28, 2025, the top spot for the April Fool's special was claimed by Wonder Girls' iconic track 'Tell Me' (2007). The episode highlighted legendary hits released between 2001 and 2010.

At the beginning of the show, MC Kim Heechul made a surprising announcement, jokingly stating, "I think I need to greet you all seriously today. I, Kim Heechul, am finally getting married." He quickly followed up with a laugh, revealing it was just a prank.

The countdown began with T-ara's 'Bo Peep Bo Peep' (2009) taking the 10th position, noted for its cute cat concept. It was mentioned that the members initially disliked the song but eventually achieved their first music show win with it.

In 9th place was SHINee's 'Ring Ding Dong' (2009), known for its catchy melody and dubbed a 'prohibited song' during the college entrance exam period. 2PM's 'Heartbeat' (2009) secured the 8th spot, with a fun fact about member Ok Taecyeon's shirt-ripping performance being attributed to the 'snap button'.

TVXQ's 'Mirotic' (2008) landed at 7th, with Kim Heechul explaining that the song's theme revolves around wanting to dominate everything about a woman one falls in love with at first sight. Member Im Ji-woo expressed her agreement, saying, "It was so successful. I think we were enchanted by it," and reminisced about her own love during that time.

The 6th position went to Brown Eyed Girls' 'Abracadabra' (2009), with a story shared about lyricist Kim Ina writing the lyrics in just 20-30 minutes and the song generating around 10 billion won in revenue.

2NE1's 'Fire' (2009), which topped various charts just two days after its release with support from G-Dragon, was ranked 5th. Meanwhile, KARA's 'Mister' (2009) was recognized as the only girl group to have achieved number one across different decades, placing 4th.

Girls' Generation's 'Gee' (2009), which sparked a nationwide trend for colored skinny jeans, took the 3rd spot. Kim Heechul humorously noted that Taeyeon cried because she didn't want to sing, suggesting that sometimes reluctance leads to success.

Big Bang's 'Lies' (2007) was ranked 2nd, with the opening line 'Hello' sung by artist Gummy, who was unaware of how beautifully her voice came out in the recording.

As the show approached the announcement of the top song, Kim Heechul teased, "Wonder Girls are still in the running. Does that mean Super Junior won't be featured?" jokingly suggesting he might leave the show.

Ultimately, the coveted number one spot went to Wonder Girls' 'Tell Me' (2007), which was described as a song that initially faced resistance from the members but went on to become one of the most influential tracks in the history of popular music.

Additionally, Super Junior's 'Sorry, Sorry' (2009) was mentioned as a special entry at 0th place, with Kim Heechul noting that his role as the MC excluded it from the rankings.
