Wonder Girls' Hyelim Shares Journey of Welcoming Second Child

On January 15, 2025, KBS2's show 'The Return of Superman' featured Hyelim from Wonder Girls as she shared her experience of giving birth to her second child. As she headed to the hospital for a scheduled cesarean section, her husband, Shin Min-cheol, displayed visible signs of nervousness. Hyelim confidently walked into the operating room, surprising fellow cast member Choi Ji-woo, who remarked on how remarkable it was to see her walking in. Park Soo-hong and Kim Jun-ho also expressed their astonishment, noting that most expectant mothers are usually wheeled in on a bed or in a wheelchair. Hyelim proudly stated that she walked into the operating room for both her first and second deliveries, even lying down on the bed herself.

Calmly, Hyelim greeted her husband and their first son, saying, 'Make sure to listen to your dad,' before entering the surgery room. Shin Min-cheol expressed his heartfelt emotions, saying, 'I can only describe it as desperation. I just hope for a healthy and safe delivery.' As time passed, his anxiety became more apparent, prompting Park Soo-hong to share his own experience of how cesarean sections can take longer than expected.

To lighten the mood, their first son, Si-woo, broke the tension by playfully passing gas. Moments later, the sound of a baby crying echoed from the operating room, prompting Shin Min-cheol to exclaim, 'It's Ddaeng-kong!' Finally, the family welcomed their second child, Ddaeng-kong. Hyelim expressed her joy, saying, 'This is a moment I’ve never seen before.' Si-woo was captivated by his new sibling, while Shin Min-cheol beamed with happiness.
