Woman Fined for Indecent Assault in Restaurant Incident
A woman in her 50s has been fined 2.8 million won and ordered to complete eight hours of sexual violence treatment courses after being convicted of indecent assault. The ruling was made by Chief Judge Park Hyun-jin at the Chuncheon District Court's Wonju branch on June 7, 2025.
The incident occurred on October 3, 2024, around 8:20 AM, in the kitchen of a restaurant in Hoengseong County, Gangwon Province. The accused, identified as A, was playing around with her male colleague, B, who is in his 20s, when she pulled down his pants and underwear, exposing his buttocks. Other coworkers were present during the incident.
Judge Park noted that the defendant acknowledged her actions, is a first-time offender, and had apologized to the victim and his parents. These factors, along with the circumstances surrounding the crime, influenced the sentencing decision.
