Woman Arrested for Assaulting Husband and Mother-in-Law in Domestic Dispute

A woman in her 50s has been arrested by the Asan Police Station in South Chungcheong Province for allegedly attacking her husband and mother-in-law with a weapon during a domestic dispute. The incident occurred early in the morning on December 26, 2024, at an apartment in Yonghwa-dong, Asan.

According to police reports, the woman, identified as A (in her 50s), is accused of injuring her husband B (also in his 50s) and mother-in-law C (in her 70s) with a knife. Emergency services responded to a call from a neighbor around 12:06 AM, reporting sounds of a fight. Upon arrival, authorities found B and C bleeding and unconscious inside the apartment. Both victims sustained injuries to their faces, backs, and arms and were transported to a hospital in shock, but their lives are not in danger.

The police apprehended A at the scene and seized three knives believed to have been used in the attack. Investigations revealed that A had a history of domestic disputes with her husband and that the altercation escalated during a verbal argument. A stated during questioning, "Seeing my mother-in-law trying to intervene and defend my son made me lose my temper."

The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for A after further investigating the details of the incident.
