WINNER's Song Min-ho Faces Controversy Over Health and Work Allegations

The controversy surrounding Song Min-ho of WINNER continues to escalate despite his team's attempts to clarify allegations of inadequate service during his alternative military duty. A representative from the Mapo Community Welfare Center, where Song is serving, stated on December 19 that his health condition severely limits his ability to perform normal activities, describing him as almost incapacitated and experiencing worsening symptoms during specific months, particularly March, April, October, November, and December.

Prior to his enlistment, Song Min-ho had openly discussed his struggles with panic disorder and bipolar disorder, which led to his classification as a 4th-grade reserve and subsequent assignment as a social service worker.

However, public sentiment remains skeptical following reports that Song traveled to Hawaii for a six-day vacation in October, contradicting the claims about his deteriorating health during that same period. Additionally, he had been actively involved in music and entertainment projects, including filming for the variety show 신서유기 (New Journey to the West) and participating in other performances, raising questions about the validity of the stated health issues during the months he was reportedly unwell.

Adding to the controversy, rumors of a romantic relationship between Song Min-ho and actress Park Joo-hyun, which has been ongoing since 2022, have surfaced, further intensifying public scrutiny.

In response to the growing concerns, both the Military Manpower Administration and the police have initiated investigations. The representative from the welfare center mentioned that officials are reviewing CCTV footage and attendance records, and they have requested Song Min-ho to submit documentation regarding the allegations of inadequate service and attendance manipulation.

As of now, Song Min-ho is on medical leave and is set to be discharged from military service on December 23.
