WINNER's Kang Seungyoon Completes Military Service and Returns to Fans

Kang Seungyoon of WINNER has officially completed his military service and returned to his fans. On December 19, he was discharged from the Army's 6th Infantry Division without a formal ceremony, sharing the news via his personal social media accounts.

Reflecting on his service from June 20, 2023, to December 19, 2024, he expressed gratitude for the bonds he formed with fellow soldiers, stating, "My military life was filled with precious memories thanks to the comrades I met along the way. I hope to live my life diligently from now on, alongside all my fellow soldiers and superiors."

Kang also extended his heartfelt thanks to his fans, known as Inner Circle, and his fellow soldiers, saying, "I deeply appreciate and love everyone who waited for me. I also want to express my respect and gratitude to all military personnel who have served and continue to protect South Korea."

He concluded with a promise to return as a better artist, saying, "As a member of WINNER and as Kang Seungyoon, I will come back with great music and performances, so please show me your warm support. Cheongseong (our unit's salute)!"

Accompanying his announcement were photos capturing various moments from his military service, including certificates of commendation and awards. The images showcased a celebratory cake and flowers for his discharge, as well as memories from his training and time spent with WINNER members during his leave.

Fans expressed their excitement for his return with banners that read, "After 549 days of waiting, the captain embarks on a new journey towards Act 2. I will continue to be with Kang Seungyoon."

Kang Seungyoon enlisted in the military on June 20, 2023, where he completed basic training before serving in the 6th Infantry Division. He was recognized for his exemplary service, receiving awards for outstanding training and even donating 10 million won to support flood victims while in uniform. In December, he was awarded the Excellent Soldier Award at a literary competition and was recognized as a special warrior. He shared his excitement about his early promotion, stating, "As of yesterday, I am now Special Warrior Corporal Kang. My longing for Inner Circle is also special, and I will be promoted to Sergeant next month."
