Who Will Shine as the First Star of K-MUSIC in 2025?
As the new year unfolds, the spotlight is on who will emerge as the first standout in K-MUSIC for 2025. The global K-pop chart, KM Chart (케이엠차트), is conducting a preference survey across six categories until January 28, 2025. The nominees include popular artists such as Jin and V from BTS (방탄소년단), Onew and Key from SHINee (샤이니), GOT7, Young Tak, Lim Young Woong, and Lee Chan Won, setting the stage for a fierce voting competition.
In the K-MUSIC (음원) category, a total of 50 songs are nominated, featuring tracks like Jin's 'I'll be there (아일 비 데어)' and 'Running Wild (러닝 와일드)', Onew's 'Winner (위너)', Key's 'Pleasure Shop (플레저 숍)', Lim Young Woong's '온기', JaeSooB's '너와의 모든 지금', and Tomorrow X Together's 'Over the Moon (오버 더 문)'. The diverse range of genres promises an exciting contest.
The K-MUSIC ARTIST (아티스트) category also boasts a stellar lineup, including the long-awaited return of GOT7, along with V (방탄소년단), Young Tak, Lee Chan Won, Play B, Stray Kids (스트레이 키즈), ATEEZ, ENHYPEN, and G-Dragon, totaling 30 popular artists.
In the HOT CHOICE (인기) category, the male section features 30 teams including Kang Daniel, MONSTA X, BTOB, Stray Kids, and ATEEZ, while the female section includes 30 teams such as Kwon Eun Bi, Dreamcatcher, Minnie (여자)아이들, Secret Number, ITZY, and Tzuyu (트와이스).
The competition for the first 'Best Rookie' title of the year is also impressive. In the ROOKIE (신인) male category, 10 teams including XLOV (엑스러브), NEXZ, n.SSign, KickFlip, and TWS are nominated, while the female category features VVUP, BABYMONSTER, BLACKSWAN, Billlie, and ODD YOUTH.
Voting for the KM Chart (케이엠차트) January preference survey can be done through the 'My One Pick' and 'Idol Champ' applications, with votes from both apps contributing equally to the final tally. Once the survey concludes, the results will be announced alongside evaluations from a judging panel and KM Chart data scores.
KM Chart collaborates with fans to compile and survey six categories monthly, providing reliable data. The January monthly chart will be available on the official KM Chart website soon.
