This week, there are several exciting films, shows, and exhibitions to check out:

▶ Mission: Impossible - Final Reckoning
The pinnacle of the 30-year-long series featuring Tom Cruise in a high-octane performance. Ethan Hunt accepts a mission to confront an AI that threatens humanity with nuclear annihilation. This film is an official selection for the non-competitive section of the Cannes Film Festival, which opens on the 13th.

A story about a lonely female assassin in her 60s who unexpectedly finds someone worth protecting. Lee Hye-young delivers a powerful performance that showcases her acting prowess.
▶ Happy End
Since its release on April 30, this independent and art film has consistently ranked first. It explores the wavering friendship of two friends standing at the threshold of adulthood. Directed by Sora Neo, known for 'Ryuichi Sakamoto: Opus,' this film is also invited to the Venice International Film Festival.

▶ A World of Paintings
This exhibition features over 60 works by eight artists born between 1912 and 1952, including Kang Yo-bae, Kwak In-sik, and Kwon Ok-yeon, reflecting timeless artistic value. It runs until July 20 at the North Seoul Museum of Art and is free to the public.
▶ Anthony McCall: Works 1972–2020
The first solo exhibition in Asia by media artist Anthony McCall showcases his 50 years of work sculpting light, sound, time, and space. It will be on display until September 7 at Putura Seoul in Samcheong-dong, with an admission fee of 18,000 KRW for adults.

▶ Bucheon Philharmonic
The inaugural concert of French conductor Adrien Perruchon, the new principal conductor of the Bucheon Philharmonic, will take place on the 14th at the Bucheon Arts Center, featuring works by Ravel and Berlioz. Tickets range from 10,000 to 30,000 KRW.
▶ Seoul Philharmonic
Conducted by Hugh Wolff, former principal conductor of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Seoul Philharmonic will perform on the 15th and 16th at the Seoul Arts Center. The program includes Shostakovich's Violin Concerto No. 1 (featuring Alena Baeva) and works by Ravel and Debussy. Tickets are priced between 10,000 and 100,000 KRW.

▶ Jaeju Sonyeon - Stay With Me
The beloved folk duo Jaeju Sonyeon returns to the stage after eight years with their seventh studio album, 'Stay With Me.' The concert will take place on the 17th at 3 PM at the Gwanak Art Hall, with tickets priced at 50,000 KRW.
▶ Play - Killing Caesar
A passionate and youthful theatrical production exploring the ambitions of the living after Caesar's assassination, as the public seeks a stronger leader. Starring Son Jun-ho and Yoo Seung-ho, it runs until July 20 at the Mary Hall Grand Theater at Sogang University, with tickets ranging from 66,000 to 77,000 KRW.
▶ Musical - Long Long Night
This bestselling musical adaptation, which has resonated deeply with adult audiences, follows the last white rhinoceros, Nordin, and a young penguin as they navigate the long night of loss towards the sea. The show runs until the 30th at Interpark Seogyeong Square 2, with tickets priced between 55,000 and 66,000 KRW.
