WEi Prepares for a Full Stage Despite Kim Yo-han's Absence

On January 15, 2025, the K-pop group WEi held a showcase at YES24 Wonderbox Hall in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, to celebrate the release of their mini-album 'The Feelings (더 필링스)'. This marks their return after a hiatus of 1 year and 7 months. The members expressed their excitement and nervousness about their comeback, with Jang Dae-hyun stating, "We are thrilled and a bit anxious due to the long break, but we are happy to see so many fans here." Kim Dong-han added, "All the members worked hard together to prepare for this album, and I have a deep affection for it as I contributed significantly to its creation." Kim Jun-seo expressed gratitude to fans for their patience during the long wait, promising to deliver great performances.

Previously, WEi explored themes of youth identity in their 'IDENTITY' series and love in their 'LOVE' series. In 'The Feelings', they delve into various emotions related to love, discussing the confusion, excitement, frustration, and anxiety that youth can experience. Jang Dae-hyun showcases his evolved musical skills by contributing to the title track 'NOT ENOUGH' and the song '겁이나'.

Kim Jun-seo described the album as a "record of youth," reflecting on the pain of love and the growth that comes from overcoming it. The title track 'NOT ENOUGH' features a dreamy shoegazing sound blended with emo hip-hop, capturing the chaotic feelings of longing and fear in an uncertain wait.

Jang Dae-hyun explained that the lyrics express the fears and anxieties associated with love, crafted to resonate with listeners through relatable themes. Kim Jun-seo noted that the group unanimously agreed on the title track, feeling it perfectly matched their style and would look great on stage. Yoo Yong praised the song's emotional depth, believing it effectively conveys the feelings they wanted to express.

Due to filming commitments, Kim Yo-han will not participate in this comeback, and the group will perform as a five-member unit. Yoo Yong shared that they prepared for the album with excitement, and although it’s unfortunate that Kim Yo-han cannot join them, they will carry his spirit into their activities. Kang Seok-hwa emphasized that even though they are promoting as five, the album was a collective effort, with Kim Yo-han contributing ideas and even creating a video for the title track.

As WEi celebrates their fifth anniversary since debuting in 2020, they reflect on their journey and the diverse contributions from each member in creating this album. They expressed their hopes for the album's success, wishing for it to be well-received and to resonate with listeners, aiming for it to become one of the most played songs of the year.
