WayV Achieves First Music Show Win on Broadcast TV After 6 Years

WayV (웨이션브이) has made history by securing their first-ever win on a broadcast music show. On December 6, the group topped KBS 2TV's Music Bank (뮤직뱅크) with their title track 'FREQUENCY' (프리퀀시) from their sixth mini-album, marking a significant milestone nearly six years after their debut. This victory adds to their previous wins on cable channels, including SBS M's The Show (더쇼) and MBC M's Show! Champion (쇼! 챔피언), bringing their total music show wins to three.
Expressing their gratitude, WayV stated, "We are thankful to everyone who helped us prepare for this album. A special thanks to our fans, WayZenNi (웨이즈니). We promise to show you an even more brilliant WayV in the future." Their heartfelt message resonated with fans, showcasing their appreciation and love.
In addition to this achievement, WayV has had a remarkable year, including their first music show win with the title track 'Give Me That' (기브 미 댓) from their fifth mini-album, a successful solo concert tour running until February next year, and their official debut in Japan, where they topped the Oricon weekly charts twice. With their recent comeback, they have set a new record by achieving their first win on a broadcast music show and three total wins, raising expectations for their future activities.
WayV's sixth mini-album 'FREQUENCY' has also received a warm response from global music fans, ranking in the top five of the iTunes Top Albums chart in 19 regions worldwide and reaching number one on Japan's AWA real-time rising chart.
