Wavve Announces 2024 Content Awards: Top Shows Revealed

Wavve has unveiled its selections for the '2024 Wavve Awards', highlighting the most popular content based on cumulative viewing data from January 1 to November 30, 2024. Among the standout titles are 'I Live Alone' (나 혼자 산다), 'The Judge from Hell' (지옥에서 온 판사), and 'Blood Game Season 3' (피의 게임 시즌3).
'Blood Game Season 3' emerged as the top driver of new paid subscriptions, achieving this status just three weeks after its release on November 15. It recorded impressive viewership numbers, making it the most significant contributor to Wavve's subscriber growth this year. Following closely were 'The Judge from Hell', 'Hot Blooded Priest Season 2' (열혈사제2), 'Dating Siblings' (연애남매), and 'I Live Alone'.
In the realm of variety shows, 'I Live Alone' reclaimed the top spot for the first time in four years, dethroning 'Running Man' (런닝맨), which had held the position since 2020. This observational documentary-style program, showcasing the daily lives of celebrities living alone, continues to resonate with viewers. The episode featuring actor Go Seung-hwan's first solo live performance garnered the highest viewership this year.
The drama category saw significant success with genre shows that provided thrilling catharsis to viewers. 'Chaebol X Detective' (재벌X형사) was a hit in the first half of the year, while 'The Judge from Hell' dominated the second half, becoming the most-watched drama on Wavve. 'Good Partner' (굿파트너) and 'Hot Blooded Priest Season 2' also ranked highly.
In film, Wavve's original and exclusive offerings stood out, with 'Brave Citizen' (용감한 시민) achieving remarkable viewership shortly after its release. The animated film 'Suzume' (스즈메의 문단속) also performed well among international films.
The documentary and current affairs segment saw some shifts, with 'The Story of That Day' (꼬리에 꼬리를 무는 그날 이야기) maintaining its top position for three consecutive years, while 'Brave Detectives' (용감한 형사들) climbed to second place.
Starting December 13, Wavve will feature a dedicated section on its main homepage for users to explore the award-winning content across various genres.
