WASSUP's Jiae Reveals Same-Sex Partner, Advocates for Love Without Prejudice

Jiae, the main vocalist of the girl group WASSUP, publicly shared her same-sex relationship on February 1. She posted a heartfelt message on her social media, stating, "I hope everyone loves without prejudice," along with a photo of herself and her partner. In the post, she expressed her affection, saying, "I love my girlfriend."

Jiae debuted as the main vocalist of WASSUP in 2013 and came out as bisexual in 2020. In a recent appearance on the show 'Gomin Cut Salon - The Sisters Strike Back,' she shared her journey, revealing that at 25, she dated several men but struggled to maintain those relationships for more than three months. Feeling uncertain about her ability to love, she began dating women.

She recounted a moment when she wanted to watch a queer film but was discouraged by negative reviews, leading her to question societal norms about love. This prompted her to come out on social media in a moment of frustration.

After her coming out, Jiae received an overwhelming 3,000 direct messages in a single day, many of which contained sexual jokes and insults. She reflected on the misconceptions surrounding bisexuality, noting that some people believe bisexual individuals only date women and marry men. Jiae clarified that she envisions a future living with her girlfriend, emphasizing that her love is not confined to gender.
