Wang Sobi Opens Up About His Children After Seo Hee-won's Passing

Wang Sobi, the ex-husband of the late Seo Hee-won, has shared his feelings during a recent live broadcast on social media, drawing attention from fans. He revealed that his two children are doing much better and are currently living with their stepmother.

Wang expressed his concerns as a father regarding the physical and mental well-being of his children, stating, "I decided to be with them during this difficult time, and I will endure and overcome it."

He emphasized his hope for the children to return to a normal life as soon as possible, acknowledging their loss of their biological mother while assuring that their stepmother is taking good care of them. He added, "I hope that adult conflicts do not destroy the children's world."

Seo Hee-won divorced Wang Sobi in November 2021 after ten years of marriage and remarried Gu Jun-yeop in March 2022. Tragically, she passed away on March 2, 2025, due to pneumonia caused by the flu while traveling in Japan with her family, leaving many in shock.

Before the family could fully process their grief, controversies surrounding Seo Hee-won's substantial estate began to emerge. She had been in conflict with Wang Sobi over unpaid living expenses, child support, and property division prior to her death, raising questions about the fate of her estate valued at 120 billion KRW.

In response, Gu Jun-yeop stated on his personal social media that he intends to relinquish all rights to the estate to Seo Hee-won's mother, emphasizing that the wealth was accumulated to protect the family she loved. He also mentioned plans to legally safeguard the children's rights until they reach adulthood to prevent any negative influences from affecting them.

Amidst these developments, allegations surfaced claiming that Wang Sobi owed Seo Hee-won 250 million TWD (approximately 1.09 billion KRW), leading to further controversy. Seo Hee-won's mother, Hwang Chun-mae, made a cryptic post on social media, calling Wang a liar and expressing her regret.

Recently, it has been reported that the family has reached an agreement under Taiwanese law, allowing Gu Jun-yeop and the two children to each receive one-third of Seo Hee-won's estate. However, due to Seo Hee-won's passing, Wang Sobi retains parental rights, which means he will manage two-thirds of the estate valued at 100 billion KRW.
