Voice Actor Lim Soo-ah Passes Away at 73

Lim Soo-ah, the beloved voice actor known for her role in 'Detective Conan' (명탐정 코난), has sadly passed away on May 22, 2025, at the age of 73. According to the Korea Voice Acting Association, she began her career in 1968 as part of TBC's fourth class and later became classified as a KBS 10th generation voice actor following media consolidation. Lim was well-known for her work in various Disney animations and continued to be active in dubbing foreign films for KBS.

Throughout her career, Lim lent her voice to numerous animated series and films, including 'Casper the Friendly Ghost' (꼬마유령 캐스퍼), 'The Little Prince' (모래요정 바람돌이), 'Future Boy Conan' (미래소년 코난), 'Anne of Green Gables' (빨강머리 앤), 'Sleeping Beauty' (잠자는 숲속의 공주), 'Pocahontas', and many others. She also contributed to dubbed versions of international films such as 'Memoirs of a Geisha' (게이샤의 추억), 'While You Were Sleeping' (당신이 잠든 사이에), 'Liar Liar', 'Romeo and Juliet', 'Minority Report', 'Men in Black', 'Gone with the Wind' (바람과 함께 사라지다), 'Billy Elliot', 'Desperate Housewives' (위기의 주부들), 'If Only', 'Il Postino', and the 'Harry Potter' series.

The news of Lim Soo-ah's passing was shared by her junior, Jung Sung-hoon, on social media, expressing condolences with a heartfelt message. Her funeral service is being held at Seoul National University Hospital, with the burial scheduled for May 24 at 8 AM at Seoul Memorial Park.
