Voice Actor Lee Jae-myung Passes Away at 78

Lee Jae-myung (이재명), the beloved voice actor known for his role as 'Go Gil-dong' in the animated series 'Dooly the Little Dinosaur' (아기공룡 둘리), has passed away at the age of 78. On January 15, fellow voice actor Jung Sung-hoon (정성훈) shared the news on his social media, expressing condolences with the message, "I pray for the repose of Lee Jae-myung's soul."

Lee made his debut as a stage actor in 1965 and joined KBS Voice Acting Troupe as part of its 13th generation in 1971. Throughout his career, he lent his voice to numerous popular animated series, including 'The Jungle Book' (정글북), 'Winnie the Pooh' (곰돌이 푸), 'Super Board' (날아라 슈퍼보드), 'Dragon Ball' (드래곤볼), 'Super Ganjyo' (슈퍼 그랑죠), 'Dooly the Little Dinosaur' (아기공룡 둘리), 'Eunbi and Kabi's Old Tales' (은비 까비의 옛날 옛적에), 'Alice in Wonderland' (이상한 나라의 앨리스), and more. He also provided dubbing for foreign films such as 'Good Will Hunting' and 'Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark.'

His portrayal of 'Go Gil-dong' in 'Dooly the Little Dinosaur,' which aired in 1987, left a lasting impression on audiences, showcasing his unique character charm. He also received acclaim for voicing 'Frieza' in 'Dragon Ball Z' (드래곤볼Z) in 2002.

After his last project, 'Jurassic Park III' (쥬라기 공원 3) in 2005, Lee stepped back from the spotlight to focus on advocating for the welfare of cultural artists and nurturing future talent.

The news of his passing has prompted an outpouring of tributes across various online platforms.
