Voice Actor and Broadcaster Seo Yu-ri Takes Legal Action Against Cyberbully

Seo Yu-ri (서유리), a voice actor and broadcaster, has announced that she is taking legal action against a malicious user who has been harassing her online. On July 5, she shared a statement detailing the ongoing cyberbullying and defamation she has faced for several years from this individual. According to Seo, the user has posted thousands of derogatory comments and false information about her in various online communities, including sexual harassment, and continues to do so to this day.

Despite multiple warnings issued to the user, Seo claims that the harassment has only escalated, with the user mocking her in increasingly aggressive posts. She expressed that personal circumstances had previously made it difficult for her to respond, but she has now decided to take a stand and pursue legal action to hold the individual accountable through the proper legal channels.

In her message, Seo addressed the anonymous bully directly, stating, "You likely feel no guilt at this moment, believing your actions are justified. Since you are not recognized in society, you resort to such behavior online. A person capable of logical thought and precise language would not resort to such low-level insults. You are mentally unwell, abnormal, and foolish. Can you truly be invincible as you claim?" She also included a photo taken at the police station.

Additionally, Seo revealed that following her divorce from director Choi Byung-gil in March of last year, she incurred debts amounting to 2 billion KRW (approximately $1.5 million). She has been actively repaying this debt, having already settled around 1.3 billion KRW. Despite suggestions from friends to file for bankruptcy, she has committed to repaying her debts, acknowledging her responsibility for the financial situation stemming from her ex-husband's name being used.

Recently, Seo also gained attention for her appearance on the YouTube channel 'This is the Final - Pajama Sisters Party,' where she disclosed that she is dating a legal professional born in 1992, whom she met through a matchmaking agency.
