Voice Actor and Actress Jang Mi-ja Passes Away at 84

Jang Mi-ja, a renowned voice actor and actress, has passed away due to an illness on January 27, 2025, at the age of 84. According to the Korean Broadcasting Actors Union and the broadcasting industry, she left us in the morning. Jang made her debut in 1962 with the play 'Without the Pain of Breaking the Shell' and joined DBS Dong-A Broadcasting as part of its first voice acting team in 1963. Throughout her career, she appeared in numerous dramas including 'Dalmuri', 'Gaeguk', 'Independence Gate', 'Land', 'The Second Republic', 'Seoul Ttukbaegi', 'TV Sonja Byeongbeop', 'Meondong', 'New Generation Report - Adults Don't Know', 'Fairy Commi', 'Couple Clinic: Love and War', 'Crisis Man', 'Solyakgukjip Sons', 'I Believe in Love', and 'Brilliant Days'. Notably, she portrayed the role of Chairman Han's mother in the 2023 series 'King the Land'. Her funeral is set to take place at the Seoul National University Hospital Funeral Hall, with the burial scheduled for January 29 at 6 AM at the Seoul City Crematorium.
