VCHA Member KG Leaves Group Amid Allegations of Abuse and Mental Health Concerns

On December 8, 2024, KG, a member of the multinational girl group VCHA formed by JYP Entertainment, announced his departure from the group. In a lengthy statement posted on his social media, KG revealed that he has filed a lawsuit to terminate his contract with JYP due to alleged abuse and mistreatment from certain staff members.
KG expressed that he felt the environment was detrimental to his mental health, stating, "I apologize for disappointing everyone, but I cannot support an environment where a member attempts extreme measures and suffers from eating disorders. I made this decision back in May and have been waiting for my contract to be terminated. I am worried about the remaining members, whom I truly love and care for. I realized that if I stayed with JYP, I could not become the artist I wanted to be. I faced extreme workloads and severe limitations on my personal life, accumulating significant debt to the company while receiving little in return."
Despite the challenges, KG acknowledged the beautiful moments he experienced, expressing gratitude towards JYP's founder Park Jin-young, the management team, staff, and fans.
In response, JYP stated, "We have not yet received the official details and are currently verifying the situation. We have been discussing this matter through representatives, but there have been differing opinions. We will proceed according to future protocols."
VCHA, a six-member global girl group consisting of KG, Lexi, Camila, Kendall, Savannah, and Kaylee, was formed through the survival audition A2K, a collaboration between JYP and Republic Records. The group debuted in January 2024 but has been on hiatus since March when Kaylee paused her activities due to health issues.
