VCHA Member KG Announces Departure and Legal Action Against JYP Entertainment

KG, a member of the rookie global girl group VCHA, has announced her departure from the group, citing mistreatment by specific staff members. In a recent post on her social media, she revealed, "After experiencing abuse from certain staff yesterday, I have decided to terminate my contract and file a lawsuit against the company."
KG expressed concern for her mental health, stating, "I believe the environment was detrimental to my well-being. I cannot support a situation that led one member to attempt self-harm and encouraged eating disorders."
She added, "I made this decision back in May and have been waiting for my contract to be terminated. I worry about my friends still in VCHA, whom I truly love and care for. Despite the significant debt the company has accumulated, the compensation for our intense work and limited personal lives has been minimal."
In her closing remarks, KG acknowledged the positive moments she experienced, thanking JYP Entertainment's founder Park Jin-young and the staff for their support. However, she emphasized that the issues she faced are deeply rooted in the K-Pop industry. "I hope my departure can lead to improvements in the K-Pop system to better protect idols and trainees under these companies," she stated.
In response, JYP Entertainment commented on December 8, stating, "We have not yet received the details directly and are currently verifying the situation. We have been discussing this matter through representatives, and there have been differing opinions. We will proceed according to the necessary procedures."
VCHA is a global girl group formed through the joint project 'A2K' by JYP Entertainment and Universal Music Group's Republic Records.
