Um Jung-hwa Responds to Marriage Questions with Humor and Honesty

On December 22, 2024, singer and actress Um Jung-hwa candidly addressed unexpected questions about her marriage plans during a recent episode of her YouTube channel, Umaizing 엄정화TV. In a video titled 'Why Baek Ji-young Called Um Jung-hwa, and Their Tears,' the two stars engaged in a heartfelt conversation.

After discussing various topics, Baek Ji-young asked, 'Aren't you getting married, unnie?' To this surprising question, Um Jung-hwa humorously replied, 'They say marriage is crazy.'

Shifting to a more serious tone, she shared, 'Honestly, I never thought about marriage, but maybe this is the right time for it. Just casually, like friends.' She added, 'It's different from having a baby or anything like that.' Baek Ji-young agreed, saying it feels more like finding a companion.

Um Jung-hwa reflected on the current era, stating, 'It feels like a good time for such things. Our life expectancy has increased; they say we live to be a hundred, and I've lived about half of that. I'm halfway there,' she laughed. Born in 1969, Um Jung-hwa is currently 55 years old in Korean age.

Baek Ji-young expressed her hopes, saying, 'The reason I asked is that if you do have marriage plans, I want to be the one to sing at your wedding.' Um Jung-hwa jokingly responded, 'Should I have you sing 'Like I've Been Shot'?' To which Baek Ji-young laughed and suggested, 'No, maybe 'Love Sickness' or 'Don't Forget Me' instead.'
