Um Ji-yoon Apologizes to aespa After Dropping Trophy at MMA 2024

Comedian Um Ji-yoon made headlines at the 2024 Melon Music Awards held on November 30 at Incheon Inspire Arena, where she knelt down to apologize to the girl group aespa after accidentally dropping their trophy.

During the award presentation, alongside Kim Won-hoon, Um Ji-yoon announced aespa as the winner of the 'Best Female Group' award. As aespa made their way to the stage, Um Ji-yoon accidentally dropped the trophy she was holding, leading to a moment of panic. Quickly recovering, she picked up the trophy and knelt to present it to aespa.

While aespa delivered their acceptance speech, Um Ji-yoon was seen sighing, clearly feeling the weight of the mishap. When she returned to the stage for the next award presentation, she sincerely apologized, saying, "I am truly sorry. I apologize for my actions."

Earlier in the event, Um Ji-yoon humorously claimed to resemble aespa's Winter. Kim Won-hoon chimed in, recalling a time when an app suggested he looked like actor Won Bin, stating, "It said I matched 70%." Um Ji-yoon playfully corrected him, saying, "Not Won Bin, but Won Pan." She then insisted, "Don’t I look a bit like Winter?" to which Kim Won-hoon joked, "You only share the same hair color, but right now you look more like Haaland. If you had a soccer ball, show us your dribbling skills!"
