TWS's Shin Yu Talks About His Looks: 'Just an Ordinary Face' on 'Knowing Bros'

Shin Yu, the leader of the K-pop group TWS (투어스), recently shared his thoughts on his appearance during an episode of the MBC variety show Knowing Bros (전지적 참견 시점) that aired on November 23, 2024.

In this episode, Shin Yu and fellow member Do Hoon opened up about their daily lives, and Shin Yu's comments regarding his looks caught the attention of viewers. TWS made their first-ever accommodation reveal on the show, where they described themselves as mostly introverted but lively when together. The group was also seen attending a university event at Chungnam National University, with their manager noting that it was their third college event and expressing gratitude for the turnout.

While waiting for his turn for hair and makeup, Shin Yu admitted to being a heavy sleeper, recalling a time he slept for up to 26 hours straight after a monthly evaluation during his trainee days.

Once the members were made up, the MCs expressed their admiration for their looks. When asked by Jeon Hyun Moo if they thought about their own appearances, Shin Yu humorously remarked, "When I look at my face, I just think it's ordinary," which elicited laughter from the audience.

Hong Hyun Hee then asked Shin Yu and Do Hoon about their thoughts on comedian Yoo Byung Jae's looks, to which they both agreed he was handsome. When posed with the hypothetical question of whether they would switch faces with Yoo Byung Jae, Do Hoon hesitated before saying he would, causing a burst of laughter. Yoo Byung Jae responded, jokingly advising them to work hard in life.

Additionally, Shin Yu shared that although he is the youngest in TWS, he has two older sisters at home. He credited his second sister for his journey into becoming an idol, recounting how he was initially reluctant to move to Seoul. He explained that a trip to an amusement park, which his sister insisted on, led to him being scouted on the street, marking the beginning of his idol career.
