TWS Achieves First Gold Disc Certification in Japan

The K-pop group TWS (투어스), consisting of members 신유, 도훈, 영재, 한진, 지훈, and 경민, has received its first Gold Disc certification from the Japan Record Association. As of December 2024, their debut single 'Last Bell' surpassed 100,000 units in cumulative shipments, earning the prestigious 'Gold' status. The Japan Record Association awards Gold (100,000 units), Platinum (250,000 units), and Double Platinum (500,000 units) certifications based on monthly sales figures.
This milestone marks TWS's first Gold Disc certification since their debut, and it is particularly noteworthy as it was achieved with a Korean release prior to their official debut in Japan. This accomplishment highlights the strong interest from local fans and showcases the group's global potential.
Released in November 2023, 'Last Bell' quickly gained popularity in Japan, topping both the Oricon Weekly Single Ranking and the Weekly Combined Single Ranking as of December 16. TWS has also made appearances on popular year-end shows such as the '2024 FNS Music Festival' and 'Best Hit Song Festival 2024', further solidifying their presence in the local music scene.
Since their debut in January 2023, TWS has garnered attention for their refreshing musical style and exceptional talent, establishing themselves as one of the hottest rookie groups. They have won a total of 13 trophies at major music award ceremonies, including 7 rookie awards, making them the most awarded debut artists of 2024.
Additionally, TWS's debut track '첫 만남은 계획대로 되지 않아' (Our First Meeting Didn't Go as Planned) topped Melon's annual chart for 2024, marking the first time a debut song has reached the top of this chart in 14 years. The song also ranked 2nd and 3rd on Circle Chart's annual digital and streaming charts, respectively.
