Two Police Officers in Busan Under Investigation for Investment Fraud

Two active police officers in Busan are under scrutiny for their alleged involvement in a massive investment fraud scheme that has reportedly defrauded investors of hundreds of millions of won. According to the Busan Police Agency, the officers, who hold the rank of sergeant, are suspected of being connected to a group that misled investors by promising guaranteed returns on investments in a U.S. company developing artificial intelligence (AI) technology. This case is part of a larger fraud operation that has swindled thousands of investors out of significant sums. Authorities are currently investigating whether these officers directly solicited investments from colleagues, acquaintances, and family members. It has also been revealed that the officers received a warning from the internal affairs department in December of the previous year.
