Two Arrested for Blackmailing Tottenham's Son Heung-min

A 20-year-old woman, identified as Yang, and a 40-year-old man, identified as Yoon, have been arrested for allegedly blackmailing Tottenham Hotspur footballer Son Heung-min. On May 17, a hearing for their arrest warrants took place at the Seoul Central District Court, where both individuals were charged with extortion and attempted extortion.
According to Son's representatives, Yang claimed to be pregnant with Son's child last June and demanded several hundred million won in compensation. Yoon, suspected of colluding with Yang, reportedly attempted to extort tens of millions of won as well.
The pair had previously approached Son's management in March, threatening to spread false information on social media if their demands were not met. The police are currently investigating the details of their actions following their arrest.
Son's management company, Son & Football, stated, "The clear victim in this case is Son Heung-min, and a police investigation is ongoing. We apologize to fans for this unfortunate issue. Son is focused on preparing for the remainder of the season and will continue to act responsibly."
Additionally, Yang appeared at the court hearing without a hat or any means to cover her face, which has sparked controversy among the media.
