TWICE to Make Fifth Appearance at Japan's 'Kohaku Uta Gassen' Finale

The popular K-pop group TWICE is set to perform at Japan's prestigious year-end special broadcast, NHK's 'Kohaku Uta Gassen'. According to an announcement made on November 19 via NHK's official social media channels, TWICE will take the stage for the 75th edition of 'Kohaku Uta Gassen', which will air on December 31. This annual event showcases top artists who have garnered significant love and support throughout the year in Japan.

TWICE has previously participated in 'Kohaku Uta Gassen' as a full group from 2017 to 2019 and again in 2022, while the unit MISAMO, consisting of members Mina, Sana, and Momo, made an appearance in 2023. Since their official debut in Japan in 2017, coinciding with their first performance at 'Kohaku Uta Gassen', this will mark their fifth appearance as a group, underscoring their strong influence and status in the music industry.

From their debut best album '#TWICE' (해시태그트와이스) released on June 28, 2017, to their latest studio album 'DIVE' (다이브) released in July, TWICE has dominated major charts such as Oricon and Billboard Japan, collecting numerous awards at local ceremonies including the Gold Disk Awards and the Record Awards. As of May this year, they achieved a remarkable milestone by surpassing 20 million cumulative album sales across both Japan and South Korea. Additionally, during their fifth world tour, 'TWICE 5TH WORLD TOUR 'READY TO BE'' (레디 투 비), they performed at major venues in Japan, including Osaka's Yanmar Stadium Nagai and Tokyo's Ajinomoto Stadium, drawing in hundreds of thousands of fans.
