TWICE Showcases Unique Variety Skills on 'Amazing Saturday'

On December 7, the popular tvN variety show 'Amazing Saturday' (놀라운 토요일) featured members of TWICE, including Tzuyu (쯔위), Dahyun (다현), and Jihyo (지효), who surprised everyone with their bold transformations. The trio dressed as characters from the iconic drama 'Boys Over Flowers,' with Jihyo declaring, "Today’s Geum Jan-di is TWICE’s Jihyo," while Tzuyu, who made the most striking transformation, introduced herself as "Today’s Goo Jun-pyo, Tzuyu. I’m satisfied with my look," explaining that her hair was cleverly hidden rather than cut. Dahyun chimed in, saying, "I’m Dahyun from TWICE, and I’m the flower from 'Boys Over Flowers.'"

Nucksal (넉살) humorously commented on their costumes, noting that they were relatively normal compared to the others. Dahyun explained that she wanted to look pretty for their first TV variety appearance in a while, which led to her floral makeup.

Boom (붐) revealed that the reason for their costumes was to promote Nayeon’s (나연) solo album, as she had previously brought the members along for a similar themed appearance. Jihyo added with a laugh that Nayeon had left them to handle the spotlight alone.

TWICE recently made a comeback with their 14th mini album titled 'STRAY' (스트레이지), which Dahyun described as a representation of a strategy in love, showcasing their unique performances. The group delivered a vibrant stage filled with girl hip-hop elements, raising expectations.

The episode also highlighted connections between the TWICE members and the show's cast. Nucksal shared that Dahyun had sent him a direct message after a successful recording, expressing their friendship. Dahyun mentioned that she felt a close bond with Nucksal during the shoot, even sending him a gift for his child.

Jihyo also had a connection with Park Na-rae (박나래), recalling a memorable moment from a concert where Park Na-rae’s loud cheers were well-known, and she was right beside her. Jihyo humorously noted how intimidated she felt, especially with Park Na-rae planning to wear a bikini.

In a fun twist, TWICE struggled to guess a song by Stray Kids (스트레이키즈) during the show. The first round featured the challenging track 'Sori-kun' (소리꾼), which left both the members of Doremi and TWICE confused, especially during the difficult rap sections. Tzuyu was unable to write down any answers, while Dahyun insisted that the lyrics included '판들' (which she thought sounded like '판촉'). However, Moon Se-yoon (문세윤) humorously pointed out that they were in over their heads, suggesting that the phrase 'You can’t even keep up with my toes' might apply. Taeyeon (태연) recalled having performed on the same stage and, after some contemplation, jumped up in excitement as she got closer to the correct answer on her second attempt.
