TWICE Achieves 6th Place on Billboard 200 with New Album

K-pop sensation TWICE has made headlines by securing the 6th position on the Billboard 200 chart with their latest album, 'THIS IS FOR' (디스 이즈 포), released on July 11. According to an article published on July 20 by Billboard, the album sold 80,000 units, contributing to its impressive ranking. The album features original tracks like 'TAKEDOWN (JEONGYEON, JIHYO, CHAEYOUNG)' and the title song 'Strategy' (스트래티지) from their 14th mini album, which have helped drive its popularity. Additionally, the soundtrack for the Netflix animated series 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' (K팝 데몬 헌터스) also made waves, landing at 5th place on the same chart.
TWICE has consistently made their mark on the Billboard 200, starting with their mini album 'Taste of Love' (테이스트 오브 러브) at 6th place in June 2021. They followed this with their 3rd studio album 'Formula of Love: O+T=<3' (포뮬러 오브 러브: O+T=<3) at 3rd, mini album 'BETWEEN 1&2' (비트윈 원앤투) at 3rd, mini album 'READY TO BE' (레디 투 비) at 2nd, mini album 'With YOU-th' (위드 유-스) at 1st, and mini album 'STRATEGY' at 4th. With their latest release, TWICE has achieved an impressive streak of seven consecutive entries in the Billboard 200 top 10, setting a new record for K-pop girl groups.
The new album showcases a rich variety of genres and unit combinations, reflecting the expanded musical universe of TWICE. The songwriting team includes renowned creators who have worked with global artists like Ariana Grande and Sabrina Carpenter, earning the album rave reviews from listeners worldwide, who have dubbed it a 'masterpiece.'
TWICE kicked off their sixth world tour on July 19 and 20 at the Incheon Inspire Arena. They will continue their tour with stops in Osaka on July 26-27, Aichi on August 23-24, Fukuoka on August 30-31, Tokyo on September 16-17, Macau on September 27-28, Bulacan on October 4, Singapore on November 11-12, Sydney on November 1-2, Melbourne on November 8-9, Kaohsiung on November 22, Hong Kong on December 6, and Bangkok on December 13-14.
