tvN's popular show 'Useless Knowledge of the Earth' (알아두면 쓸데없는 지구별 잡학사전) is set to make a comeback, this time taking viewers on a delightful and informative journey through the Mediterranean. The new season, titled 'Useless Knowledge of the Earth: Mediterranean' (알쓸별잡: 지중해), will premiere on March 31 (Monday) at 10:10 PM.

Directed by Kim Ji-in, this series is a continuation of the previous hit 'Useless Knowledge of the Earth: New York,' which was praised for its engaging discussions on a variety of topics. This season, the crew will travel through various European cities along the Mediterranean Sea, exploring subjects such as humanities, science, architecture, and literature through the lens of expert guests.

The Mediterranean, known as the 'sea in the middle of the earth,' has always been a focal point of history. The show's cast will embark on a broad conversational journey, visiting different cities along the Mediterranean coastline.

Leading the crew is the returning MC Yoon Jong-shin, who will take on the role of captain, facilitating lively and engaging discussions among the experts. Joining him is actress Bae Doona, who will co-host and bring a fresh perspective to the conversations, enhancing viewer engagement with her curious questions and relatable insights. Their unique dynamic is expected to be a highlight of this season.

Returning experts include architect Yoo Hyun-jun, physicist Kim Sang-wook, and astronomer Shim Chae-kyung, who will contribute to deeper intellectual discussions. New additions to the panel include Lee Jung-mo, a former director of science museums known for making science accessible and interesting; Han Dong-il, the first East Asian lawyer at the Vatican's Supreme Court; and poet Ahn Hee-yeon, who has created a rich and contemplative poetic world. Their collaboration with existing members promises to elevate the intellectual exploration of the Mediterranean.
