tvN's Problematic Men Returns with Math Reboot

tvN's popular variety show '문제적 남자' (Problematic Men) is making a comeback after five years, with its reboot titled '문제적 남자 리부트: 수학편' (Problematic Men Reboot: Math Edition) set to premiere on June 23, 2025.

Since its debut in 2015, 'Problematic Men' has captivated audiences with its challenging brain teasers and the comedic talents of its cast. This reboot aims to restore the nation's confidence in mathematics, featuring a new lineup of members who will engage in intense intellectual battles.

The show's main brainiac, Jeon Hyun-moo (전현무), is confirmed to return, alongside renowned math instructor Jung Seung-jae (정승제), who is affectionately known as the 'savior of math dropouts.' Jung will share engaging math stories and special lectures designed to boost viewers' self-esteem in math. Jeon Hyun-moo, who represents the liberal arts side of the show, is expected to transform into a character focused on regaining math confidence alongside Jung Seung-jae.

The lineup of 'problematic disciples' has also been revealed, featuring brainy cast members such as Bae Seong-jae (배성재), a brainy caster with hidden genius, John Park (존박), a perfect scorer on the SAT math section, Suho (수호), an all-rounder idol ready to reboot his math instincts, and Kim Kyu-min (김규민), a survival champion with impressive credentials, including early admission to Seoul Science High School and a first-place finish in the Korean Math Olympiad.

Additionally, the production team has released teaser videos that have caught viewers' attention. In one teaser, Jung Seung-jae presents a brain teaser about the day the show will air, emphasizing that it can be easily solved with mathematical thinking, thus stimulating viewers' math instincts. Another teaser shows Jung assessing the problematic disciples, expressing his excitement and raising anticipation for the upcoming broadcast.
