TV Chosun to Air 'Dad and Me' Featuring Trot Star So Myung and Daughter So Yu Mi

TV Chosun will broadcast '아빠하고 나하고' ('Dad and Me') tonight at 10 PM, featuring the beloved trot singer So Myung, known for the hit song '빠이 빠이야,' alongside his daughter So Yu Mi.

So Yu Mi, who debuted as an idol before re-debuting as a trot singer in 2015, is following in her father's footsteps. She expresses her frustrations, stating, "Even when I work hard, it doesn't meet my dad's standards of 'hard work.'" Often referred to as 'So Myung's daughter,' she finds that conversations about her father overshadow her own identity.

In an effort to establish her own career, So Yu Mi decides to hold her first solo concert in Japan, a feat she has yet to accomplish in Korea. Upon arriving in Japan, she shares, "I wanted to experience performing alone," and begins promoting her concert. However, she faces embarrassment as passersby ignore her on the streets. Undeterred, she boldly engages in impromptu busking to attract attention, tirelessly promoting to restaurant patrons up until an hour before the show.

As the concert approaches, So Yu Mi grows anxious when she sees the empty seats, with venue staff reminding her, "There have been times when the audience count was zero. If no one shows up, we may have to cancel the performance." Viewers will find out if So Yu Mi can successfully pull off her first concert in Japan during the broadcast.
