Trot Singer Kim Dae-sung Searches for His Mother but Faces Heartbreak

On March 20, the MBN program '특종세상' featured trot singer Kim Dae-sung, who has been on a quest to find his long-lost mother. Despite his efforts, he was unable to reunite with her. During the show, Kim, who also works as a fish wholesaler, shared his daily routine, stating, "I can't have breakfast because I have to go to work," while maintaining a cheerful demeanor.

Upon arriving at the fish market, he efficiently sorted fresh fish that had just arrived in the early morning, showcasing his expertise. Working from 4 AM to 4 PM, he transformed into a polished performer for his events without showing any signs of fatigue.

As he warmed up in his vehicle, he captivated the audience with his rich voice. In a heartfelt moment, he revealed, "I lost my mother when I was young and grew up in my grandmother's care. My mother's name is this, and she is about 59 years old. If anyone has information, please contact me."

Kim expressed his desperation by distributing flyers, saying, "I have no idea where my mother is, and all I have is a photo and her name. I want to become a big star to find her. I carry flyers whenever I perform or walk around, hoping someone might recognize her and provide a clue."

He sought information from his uncle, having learned about his biological mother six years ago. His uncle shared, "Your mother worked at a toy company when she was 19, and she should be around 60 now. I have met her before, and you resemble her."

However, his uncle also cautioned him, saying, "Are you sure you want to find her? She was only 19 when she had you and may have started a new family. You should think carefully about this."

In a surprising turn, Kim received a call from his mother after seeing her on a broadcast, but their conversation was brief. He noted, "She seems uncomfortable contacting me because she has a family now. That's the situation."

With a heavy heart, he visited his grandmother's grave, crying as he said, "Grandma, I found my mom, but it hurts so much. She has a husband and daughter now, and she said she can't tell them about me. She asked me to wait another 2-3 years. After waiting 42 years, can I not wait one more year? I will try to wait, Grandma."
