The SBS drama Treasure Island (보물섬) has made history with its spectacular finale, which aired on April 12, 2025. The final episode achieved unprecedented viewership ratings of 15.7% in the Seoul metropolitan area and 15.4% nationwide, peaking at an impressive 17.9%. This remarkable performance secured its position as the '2025 Mini-Series Ratings Champion.'

Notably, the ratings among viewers aged 20 to 49 reached 4%, making it the top program in its time slot and the highest-rated show of the week.

In the finale, the character Seo Dong-joo (박형식) completed his long-awaited revenge against the embodiment of evil, Yeom Jang-seon (허준호). However, instead of satisfaction, he was left with a sense of emptiness. After imprisoning Yeom in a secret vault and obtaining a pledge to donate all his wealth, Seo Dong-joo released him, shedding bittersweet tears of vengeance. The conclusion left no clear victor, as all characters became victims of their own desires.

Ultimately, Seo Dong-joo relinquished everything and headed to the sea, scattering the ashes of Heo Il-do and reflecting on his past with two guns in hand. The poignant narration by Yeo Eun-nam (홍화연), "Dong-joo, you don’t have to come back, just come to rest," left a lasting impact as the series came to a close.
