Travel YouTubers Mourn Victims of Jeju Air Tragedy

Travel YouTubers are expressing their shock and sorrow over the recent Jeju Air tragedy. Following the incident, popular creator 빠니보틀 (Pani Bottle) shared his condolences on his YouTube community page on December 29, stating, "I woke up this morning to the heartbreaking news from Muan International Airport." He added, "As someone who frequently travels by plane, I find it difficult to express the depth of my grief. I pray for the souls of the deceased and hope for a swift resolution to the situation," announcing a delay in the upload of his final travel video from the Philippines, which was scheduled for the next day.
The following day, fellow YouTuber 곽튜브 (GwakTube), also expressed his sorrow through his community post, saying, "Hello, this is Gwak Jun-bin. It feels difficult to even say hello on such a day." He conveyed his deep sadness and condolences to the families of the victims, stating, "Words cannot express the sorrow I feel in this unbelievable situation. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families." He also mentioned that he would pause the upload of his planned travel videos, adding, "May the souls of the departed rest in peace."
On December 29, Jeju Air flight 7C2216, carrying 175 passengers and 6 crew members from Bangkok, Thailand, crashed while landing at Muan International Airport, colliding with the runway's outer wall. The aircraft was severely damaged, with most of it engulfed in flames, resulting in the tragic loss of 179 lives, while 2 individuals were rescued.
In response to the tragedy, the government has declared a national mourning period until January 4, and various broadcasters have canceled entertainment programs and year-end award ceremonies. The film and music industries are also participating in the mourning by canceling performances and promotional events.
