Tragic Passing of Actress Kim Sae-ron Shocks Fans and Friends
In a shocking turn of events, actress Kim Sae-ron was found deceased at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on February 16, 2025. A friend discovered her body, and the police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding her death, with the cause of death yet to be disclosed.
A close associate of Kim Sae-ron shared with OSEN that the last time they saw her was at the end of last year. They had been discussing her return to acting, particularly her comeback in the film 'Guitar Man,' expressing disbelief at the tragic outcome. The friend revealed, "We were excited about her return to acting and making money again, but we never expected this."
The associate also mentioned that Kim had recently changed her name to Kim Aim and was preparing to open a café while planning her return to the entertainment industry. They expressed disbelief at the news, stating, "She was working on opening a café with friends and had even planned to move. It’s hard to accept."
Reflecting on her passing, the friend lamented, "There were no signs of distress, and I told her to call if she was having a hard time..." As for her funeral arrangements, it has been confirmed that no decisions have been made yet.
Born in 2000, Kim Sae-ron debuted as a cover model for the magazine 'Anfang' in 2001. She made her mark in the film industry at a young age, becoming the youngest participant at the Cannes Film Festival in 2009 with the film 'The Traveler' directed by Lee Chang-dong. She gained widespread recognition for her role as Somi in the 2010 film 'The Man from Nowhere,' showcasing her exceptional acting skills.
Throughout her career, Kim appeared in various films such as 'Manhole,' 'Dohee-ya,' 'Manshin,' and 'Snowpath,' as well as dramas including 'Can You Hear My Heart,' 'Queen's Classroom,' 'Nobody Knows,' and 'Hunting Dogs.'
