Tragic Loss in Korean Entertainment: Actor Park Min-jae Passes Away

The news of actor Park Min-jae's passing has sent shockwaves through the Korean entertainment industry. Known for his role in Little Women (작은 아씨들), Park's death comes just weeks after the untimely demise of fellow actor Song Jae-rim, amplifying the grief felt by fans and colleagues alike.

On December 2, 2024, a post on Park Min-jae's personal social media account announced, "Our beloved brother has left to rest. We hope many of you can come to see him one last time." The sudden announcement left many in disbelief.

Park's agency representative expressed deep sorrow, stating, "He was planning a month-long trip to conquer China, but now he has embarked on a much longer journey. It’s incredibly shocking and hard to accept. I am grateful and deeply sorry to have represented you, even for a short time."

The timing of Park Min-jae's death is particularly heartbreaking, as it follows closely on the heels of Song Jae-rim's passing, who died at the age of 39. Song was found by a friend who had come to meet him for lunch, and a two-page letter was reportedly left behind. His unexpected death had already plunged the entertainment world into mourning, and now Park's loss has compounded that grief.

Park Min-jae, who was only 32 years old, had a promising career ahead of him. He appeared in various dramas including Idol: The Coup (아이돌 : 더 쿱), Mr. Lee (미스터LEE), Tomorrow (내일), and The Fabulous (더 패뷸러스), among others. He also participated in the play The Law of Circulation (순환의 법칙).

The funeral for Park Min-jae is set to take place at the Ewha Womans University Medical Center, with the burial scheduled for December 4 at 9:30 AM. The final resting place has yet to be determined.
