A tragic incident occurred at an elementary school in Daejeon, where a first-grade student and a teacher were found stabbed. The student, identified as A, was transported to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. The incident took place around 6 PM on February 10, 2025, on the second floor of the school located in the Gwanjeo-dong area of Daejeon. Emergency services reported that A was unconscious upon arrival at the hospital. The teacher, referred to as B, sustained stab wounds to the neck and arm but is currently conscious and receiving treatment. The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.

Broadcaster Jang Seong-kyu has taken to social media to address accusations that he ignored workplace bullying incidents involving the late Oh Yoanna. Following a wave of negative comments, he directly replied to critics on the YouTube channel 'Garo Sero Research Institute' on February 8. In his comment, he expressed frustration, stating, "Thanks to my brother Se-yi (Kim Se-yi, the head of Garo Sero Research Institute), I've been called a murderer and have received messages telling my sons to take their own lives." Jang emphasized his respect for Se-yi's lifestyle but requested corrections to the facts once they are clarified. He also wished everyone a happy new year and asked for information about an MBC employee who allegedly provided false information during a phone call.

The controversy began after the channel released a recording of a conversation with an MBC official on January 31, suggesting that Jang had overlooked the bullying suffered by Oh. Although he initially denied the allegations, the ongoing backlash prompted him to respond to comments on the channel.

In response to a question about why he did not attend Oh's funeral, Jang explained that it was intentionally kept private, which upset him. He also mentioned that he would resolve issues with the MBC employee over drinks and clarified that the criticism directed at him was not solely due to Kim Se-yi but also because his name was mentioned in a group chat among weathercasters.

When a netizen targeted weathercaster Kim Ga-young, who was implicated in the bullying allegations, Jang retorted, warning that spreading falsehoods could lead to serious consequences.

On February 5, Jang had previously denied the allegations on his Instagram, stating that while he was hurt by the initial mention of his name, he chose to remain silent out of respect for the deceased and their family. The Libertines, the iconic Britpop band known as the 'rebels of British rock,' will hold their first solo concert in South Korea on April 9, 2025, at 8 PM at the YES24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. This announcement was made by the event organizers, WeAlive and MPMG, on February 10. 

The band, often credited as pioneers of the post-punk revival, debuted in 2002 with the single 'What a Waster / I Get Along.' Their first studio album, 'Up The Bracket,' released the same year, earned them the NME Award for Best New Band. 

In 2004, they released their second album, 'The Libertines,' which topped the UK Albums Chart and received widespread acclaim from both fans and critics. However, shortly after its release, the band announced their sudden breakup. 

After years of anticipation from devoted fans, The Libertines reunited and released their third album, 'Anthems for Doomed Youth,' in 2015, which reached number three on the UK Albums Chart, reaffirming their enduring popularity. Last year, they released their fourth album, 'All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade,' which marked their return to the top of the UK Albums Chart for the first time in 20 years. 

Carl Barât, the band's frontman, previously performed in South Korea in 2019 with his solo band, Carl Barât & The Jackals. This concert was organized by former editor of 'The Musical,' Baek Kyung-hee, who has been a long-time fan of The Libertines. She has also showcased a work inspired by the band's dynamic between Barât and co-frontman Pete Doherty. 

Tickets for The Libertines' concert will be available for pre-sale from noon on February 17 to noon on February 18 through the pop music platform ualive. General sales will begin at 6 PM on February 18 via YES24 Ticket and Interpark Ticket.

The open-ended conclusion left fans eagerly anticipating a sequel, and now, after a decade, their wishes are finally coming true.

Rumors of Signal Season 2 have circulated since last year. In March, writer Kim Eun-hee, who penned the original series, mentioned the sequel during a lecture at La Sapienza University in Rome, alongside B.A. Entertainment's Jang Won-seok, with whom she collaborated on the SBS drama The Uncanny Counter (악귀).

In June, Lee Je-hoon revealed that he had received the early script for Season 2 while promoting his film Escape (탈주), expressing his excitement by stating, "I can only think, 'This is insane.' I believe it will be a work that exceeds what people have imagined. Kim Eun-hee has outdone herself."

For Kim Eun-hee, Signal holds a special place in her heart. At an event in December 2016, she remarked, "Signal is truly special. The cast and crew have a deep affection for it. However, Season 2 can only happen if there is a great script. To work with these individuals again, we need an even better script."

It has been 18 years since the beloved actress Jeong Da-bin, often referred to as the 'Second Choi Jin-sil' for her vibrant charm, tragically passed away. On February 10, 2007, she was found dead in her boyfriend's apartment in Samseong-dong, Gangnam, Seoul. While the police and the National Forensic Service concluded that her death was a suicide based on the autopsy, her family and agency have consistently argued that there was no reason for her to take her own life. To this day, the reasons behind Jeong Da-bin's death remain unclear.

Jeong Da-bin made her debut in 2000 with the SBS sitcom Don.com. She rose to fame with her role in the sitcom Nonstop 3 and showcased her adorable charm alongside Kim Rae-won in the 2003 drama Rooftop Room Cat. Her lovely visuals and refreshing acting style led many to anticipate her as the next 'Romantic Comedy Queen' following Choi Jin-sil.

The general ticket sales for 2NE1's 15th anniversary encore concert in Seoul will begin today, February 10, at 8 PM through Interpark Ticket.
