TOP of BIGBANG Announces Comeback After Retirement Reversal

Former BIGBANG member TOP has hinted at a musical comeback in 2025. On November 29, he responded to a fan's inquiry about the release of 'Doom Dada 2.0' by stating, '2025.' The original 'Doom Dada' was released as a solo track in November 2013. However, he did not engage with comments urging him to return to BIGBANG.

In 2016, TOP faced legal issues related to marijuana use, resulting in a 10-month prison sentence, suspended for two years. Following this, he announced his retirement from the entertainment industry, stating he had no intention of returning despite negative reactions from netizens.

His retirement was short-lived as he confirmed his participation in Netflix's 'Squid Game 2,' where he plays a retired idol alongside stars like Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Im Si-wan, and Kang Ha-neul. Amidst mixed reactions to his return, TOP removed all references to BIGBANG from his profile, signaling a clear separation.

Meanwhile, BIGBANG, now a trio consisting of G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung, has demonstrated strong teamwork since the departures of TOP and Seungri. They recently performed as a full group at the '2024 MAMA Awards' in Osaka, thrilling K-pop fans.

Following this performance, TOP's sudden announcement of his return to music has once again captured the attention of fans.
