Receiving explosive support from audiences, 'Hidden Face' has generated significant buzz, becoming the only South Korean film rated for adults released this year to achieve this milestone. It has reignited interest in adult-rated Korean films, marking the first such film to cross the 1 million viewer mark in the last five years, following 'Tazza: One Eyed Jack' (타짜: 원 아이드 잭) in 2019.
Featuring remarkable performances from Song Seung-heon (송승헌), Jo Yeo-jeong (조여정), and Park Ji-hyun (박지현), the film captivates audiences with its shocking plot twists and the unraveling of secrets within precarious relationships. It has received unanimous praise, appealing to viewers aged 20 to 50.
As 'Hidden Face' continues to gain momentum, it is particularly noteworthy for being the first adult-rated film for audiences born in 2006, who will turn 18 in 2025, suggesting that its success will likely continue into the new year.
The storyline follows a man searching for his missing fiancée, who encounters her junior colleague, only to discover that his fiancée is trapped in a secret space, revealing her true self. The film is directed by Kim Dae-woo, known for works like 'Human Addiction' (인간중독) and 'The Servant' (방자전).
