Threatening Email Forces Evacuation at Sungshin Women's University

A threatening email was received at Sungshin Women's University (성신여자대학교) in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, prompting an emergency evacuation of students and staff. According to the Seongbuk Police Station and fire authorities, a report was made around 12:50 PM on July 7, stating that an email claimed explosives had been planted on campus. The university confirmed that the email, which arrived at their official account on July 4 at approximately 11:40 PM, was reported to the police. The sender identified themselves as a member of a group called 'Men's Solidarity' and stated that a bomb would explode at 3:30 AM on July 5, adding that 'women do not need education.' In response, police evacuated everyone from the campus and initiated a search operation using special police units and bomb detection dogs. So far, no explosives or hazardous materials have been found. A police official stated that they plan to trace the email sender once the on-site search is completed.
