The Rise of Girl Group IVE Captured in Children's Comics

The enthusiasm for idol groups has made its way into children's comics. The recently released 'who? Special IVE' (다산어린이), published at the end of last month, has claimed the top spot in the children's comic category at Kyobo Bookstore for the third week of November. It ranks 11th overall among bestsellers.

The comic illustrates the journey of the six-member girl group IVE, which debuted in 2021, as they establish themselves as a leading force in the fourth generation of K-pop idols. The book includes interactive activities such as 'Try Thinking Like Wonyoung' to engage young readers. Notably, women in their 40s raising children accounted for 51.1% of the total purchases.

The 'who? Special' series features stories about contemporary figures who are influential in today's society, rather than focusing on historical figures from distant eras. Recent editions have spotlighted personalities like singer Lim Young-woong and professional gamer Faker.
