‘The Heat-Stricken Seagull’ Returns After 13 Years

The beloved show ‘The Heat-Stricken Seagull’ (더위 먹은 갈매기) is making a comeback after 13 years. On July 30, during an episode of tvN’s ‘You Quiz on the Block’ (유 퀴즈 온 더 블럭), comedian and entrepreneur Song Eun-i (송은이), who has been in the industry for 32 years and is now a CEO with a decade of experience, shared her thoughts.

Fellow comedian Yoo Jae-suk (유재석), who knows her well, reminisced about their early days, saying, 'Eun-i's greatest strength and challenge has been her confidence. She has a lot of confidence, but sometimes lacks humor. I, on the other hand, struggle with confidence.'

In response, Song Eun-i humorously remarked, 'I have confidence, but I’m not funny. Yoo Jae-suk gets nervous and can’t deliver, while I have too much confidence and can’t connect with the audience.'

Both have evolved significantly since those days, with Yoo Jae-suk becoming a national MC and Song Eun-i running a company with 50 employees. Reflecting on Yoo Jae-suk’s rise to fame, she expressed, 'Watching my friend succeed and become the top MC feels very strange. In the past, he would ask me for advice, and I enjoyed sharing my thoughts. Now, he has moved past his worries and has become incredibly successful, while I realized that relying solely on confidence without self-reflection can lead to a wake-up call. After overcoming that, I found happiness in seeing him thrive.'

She added, 'I consider myself an eternal grasshopper, and I hope to be a part of Eun-song (은송). It’s fun and joyful to collaborate with him. Yoo Jae-suk has such great sense; when I started my podcast, he was always supportive, even when I showed up with a camera.'

Yoo Jae-suk is set to make a special appearance for the 10th anniversary of ‘Bibo Show’ (비보쇼). Song Eun-i mentioned, 'I saw how well Sook did. The concept will be Yoo Jae-suk and the kids. We are also preparing for ‘The Heat-Stricken Seagull’.'
