The Boyz Cancel Participation in KBS's Limousine Service Amid Ongoing Conflict with One Hundred
Tensions between One Hundred and KBS have escalated, leading to The Boyz, who recently transferred to One Hundred, announcing their withdrawal from the recording of KBS's YouTube show, Limousine Service. According to music industry sources on March 7, The Boyz confirmed they would not participate in the scheduled recording next week, resulting in the cancellation of the shoot.
Previously, on March 4, One Hundred revealed that KBS had unofficially communicated that it would be impossible for Xiumin to appear on programs like Music Bank alongside other SM Entertainment artists as he prepares to release his solo album after a two-and-a-half-year hiatus. KBS responded by stating that these claims were unfounded and that communication was ongoing. However, the situation intensified when Lee Mujin, an artist under One Hundred's subsidiary Big Planet Made Entertainment, also missed the recording of Limousine Service on March 6.
Adding to the turmoil, on March 7, Lee Soo Geun from Big Planet Made Entertainment also did not attend the recording of KBS JOY's Ask Anything, further complicating the situation.
In a statement, One Hundred expressed frustration over the lack of communication from KBS's entertainment center head, stating they had been unable to reach him for two weeks. They mentioned that despite multiple attempts to communicate with the production team, they had received no responses, leading to the decision to decline participation for all their artists. They emphasized that if their artists were to comply with KBS's conditions, it would only solidify an unfair situation.
In response to One Hundred's claims, KBS's entertainment center head, Han Kyung Cheon, acknowledged the interest in Music Bank and noted that he had been primarily responsible for the casting and lineup. He attributed the issues to communication problems between the production team and the agency, stating that they would not consider other MCs for Limousine Service until Lee Mujin's return.
