The 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards Celebrates Korean Entertainment

The 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards took place on July 18, 2025, at Paradise City in Incheon, featuring a special performance by actor Im Si-wan (임시완). This event served as a tribute to the stories that have brought laughter and tears to audiences over the past year. Im Si-wan opened the ceremony, fulfilling a promise he made after winning the Best Actor award for his role in 'Boys' Generation' (소년시대) last year. He returned this year as the character '333' from the popular series 'Squid Game' (오징어 게임) Seasons 2 and 3.
The performances highlighted various narratives, from a literary girl from Jeju to a surgical drama, and even a cooking competition stripped of its hierarchy. The night was a celebration of those who have provided comfort and empathy through their work.
Im Si-wan's performance began with 'Take Me Home,' reminiscent of 'Boys' Generation,' and transitioned into a 'Squid Game'-themed segment. The first game featured K-pop hits, with Lee Jun-young (이준영) performing U-KISS's 'Man Man Ha Ni,' Seo Hyun-jin (서현진) singing Milk's 'Come to Me,' and MC Yoona (윤아) from Girls' Generation (소녀시대) presenting 'Tell Me Your Wish.' Im Si-wan added to the excitement with a performance of 'Aftereffects' from Empire's Children (제국의아이들).
In the second game, Im Si-wan showcased his breakdancing skills, humorously declaring himself the winner until a legendary breakdancing video of Lee Byung-hun (이병헌) surprised the audience. The night concluded with Im Si-wan playfully holding up a sign that read, 'Be cautious with your acceptance speech,' referencing his character's fate in 'Squid Game.'
The awards also featured the rookie girl group Kiki (키키), who performed a clever rendition of their debut song as an award song, bringing warmth to the event by presenting balloon flowers to fellow award winners. Their performance of 'I Do Me' showcased their refreshing sound and vibrant expressions, earning them cheers from the audience.
The second half of the event was marked by the trio Jaesubi (재쓰비), who infused the ceremony with their unique energy. They opened with their new song 'My Summer Manual,' engaging the audience with witty banter and humor.
The night culminated with a performance of 'My Love, By My Side' by Hong Yi-sak (홍이삭), which evoked emotional memories from the series 'I Was Deceived' (폭싹 속았수다). The heartfelt lyrics resonated with the audience, including actors Park Bo-gum (박보검) and Kim Guk-hee (김국희), who joined in softly singing along. The event concluded with a powerful performance by Choi Baek-ho (최백호), leaving a lasting impression as the perfect ending to a night celebrating the best of Korean entertainment.
