Text Messages Reveal Late Actress Kim Sae-ron's Plea to Kim Soo-hyun Amid Agency Dispute

On March 11, 2025, a live broadcast from the YouTube channel '가로세로연구소' shed light on the relationship between late actress Kim Sae-ron and actor Kim Soo-hyun. During the broadcast, messages allegedly sent by Kim Sae-ron to Kim Soo-hyun were revealed, reportedly shared by her family. In a text dated March 19, 2024, Kim Sae-ron expressed her distress over a dispute with her agency, Gold Medalist. She wrote, "Oppa, it's Sae-ron. I received a notice of claim saying they will sue me. They said they would give me enough time, and I am preparing hard for my comeback. I will repay them gradually with a percentage from each project."
She further pleaded, "It's not that I don't want to pay back, but if they demand 700 million won right now, I genuinely can't do it. Is it necessary to go to court?" Kim Sae-ron concluded her message with a heartfelt request, saying, "Please save me. I beg you for more time."
The '가세연' team criticized Kim Soo-hyun for not responding to Kim Sae-ron's multiple attempts to reach out, stating, "Someone who dated a middle school student for six years is now suing her after she hit rock bottom."
Additionally, they shared a photo of Kim Sae-ron receiving a kiss from Kim Soo-hyun, emphasizing that she was a minor at the time. They claimed that Kim Sae-ron had been in a relationship with Kim Soo-hyun since she was 15 and accused him and Gold Medalist of shifting the burden of 700 million won in damages from her drunk driving incident onto her.
In response, Gold Medalist issued a statement condemning the allegations as false and announced plans for legal action against the spread of misinformation by '가로세로연구소'. They expressed their sorrow over Kim Sae-ron's passing and criticized the dissemination of falsehoods as a continuation of the cyberbullying she faced during her life. They urged for an end to the spread of baseless rumors that tarnish both their reputation and that of the late actress.
