Teens Arrested for Assaulting Classmate During Live Stream

On March 17, 2025, the Daejeon Daedeok Police Station reported that they are investigating a group of teenagers accused of assaulting a middle school student while broadcasting live on social media. The suspects, identified as A (male) and B (female), allegedly attacked a drunken male student, C, at A's residence in Daejeon on March 15. They are accused of forcibly shaving C's hair and eyebrows and striking him multiple times with a metal pipe. The incident was streamed live on social media. Police responded to a 112 emergency call from a viewer, leading them to A's home where they detained the suspects and confiscated the weapons used in the assault. Victim C stated that he had been drinking at A's house and fell asleep, only to wake up to the live broadcast where he was assaulted. He also mentioned that he was accused of sexual harassment and was asked for a settlement, which he denied. The suspects claimed they were provoked after hearing from B that C had sexually harassed her. A police spokesperson noted that the investigation is ongoing, and they cannot disclose the exact number of assailants or the relationship between the parties involved, but they assured that protective measures for the victim and strict actions against the suspects will be taken.
