Seohui Won's Eco-Friendly Burial Plans Revealed

Seohui Won (서희원), the late Taiwanese superstar and wife of singer Gu Junyeop (구준엽), will be interred in a natural burial site, in accordance with her wishes. According to reports from Taiwanese media on February 8, her family has decided to conclude her funeral with a tree burial, a method that involves placing the ashes around the roots of a tree without the use of artificial materials.

Seohui Won's sister, Seohui Je (서희제), shared through her agency, "I remember Seohui expressing her desire for an eco-friendly tree burial if she were to pass away. We are currently in the application process. For now, her remains will be kept in our warm home, and once the application is approved, we will return her to nature."

Seohui Won tragically passed away on February 2 while traveling in Japan with her family due to pneumonia caused by the flu. Gu Junyeop and other family members conducted some funeral procedures, including cremation, in Japan before returning to Taiwan with her ashes on February 5.

Following her unexpected death, attention has turned to matters concerning her estate and custody of her children. Gu Junyeop stated, "All of Seohui's assets were accumulated through her hard work to protect her beloved family, so I intend to leave all rights to her mother."

He also mentioned, "I will take legal measures to ensure that our children are protected from any harmful influences until they reach adulthood. The time I spent with Seohui is an invaluable gift that I would not trade for anything in the world. I believe my final duty is to protect the family she loved the most."

Gu Junyeop and Seohui Won made headlines in February 2022 when they announced their surprise marriage. The couple had previously dated 20 years ago, separated, and later reunited after Seohui's divorce to tie the knot.
